The Orbiter Flag Project: Giving Orbinauts Everywhere a claim to the Solar System

The Orbiter Flag Project is an idea I came up with for a very simple addon that has turned into something much bigger. A thrilling part of (virtual) space exploration is being able to land on some far-away celestial body and plant your country's flag. This addon provides a simple flag that can be carried by UMMU astronauts and given a custom texture, representing the flag of a country, state/province, city, or organization.

Orbiter attracts users literally from around the world, and the Flag Project invites Orbinauts of all nations to contribute flags from their homeland. So far a number of users have contributed flags, and in time I hope that the Orbiter Flag will come to reflect the true diversity and international reach of the Orbiter community.
