Since you've found my page, you've probably figured out that my name is Ryan Kingsbury. I was born in Houston, TX in 1984, where I spent the rest of my childhood and youth. I attended Kinkaid High School and graduated with a class of about 130 students in 2003.
I attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a B.A. in Plan II in December of 2007.
Upon graduation I earned the Engineer-in-Training certification in the State of Texas, and worked in consulting engineering at Camp Dresser & McKee in the environmental engineering field. More details about my career can be found at the interactive resume page.
In fall 2008 I began graduate school at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global School of Public Health, working toward a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering. I am currently involved in research with Dr. Phil Singer related to the disinfection of bromide-containing drinking waters usuing ion-exchange and ozone.
I have strong interests in water resource management, water treatment, and environmental engineering, as well as economics and public policy. I am also very interested in the water and sanitation-related problems facing developing countries. I am the current president of the UNC Chapter of Engineers Without Borders and look forward to using my skills to improve quality of life for people abroad.
When I'm not working, I enjoy hanging out with my wife Katherine. I also have a number of hobbies (including this webpage), which you can read about on the hobbies page.
