Page 1 of Pi Suite Score

I began playing the trumpet in the sixth grade, and was an avid player and active band member throughout high school. I have continued to play off and on during college, and have also developed a love of classical music and a strong interest in composition. This also began in high school, when in my senior year I was able to compose and conduct a 10-minute piece for wind band. The thrill of that achievement motivated me to take several music theory courses at UT and to study composition with a graduate student.

My most recent project is a piece for solo cello and piano entitled π Suite. The first two movements were premiered at a concert for student works on April 20, 2006. You can download recordings of the concert, as well as the complete concert program, including the notes for my piece, by following the links below.

Due to other time pressures, I'm presently on a bit of a hiatus from composing. However, I do hope to complete π Suite by editing the existing movements and adding one or two more. I also have a wind sextet in progress entitled Alpine Sonata, which was inspired by my recent trip to Mt. Rainier. I'm unsure when it will be complete.
